Thirty-four years ago today, the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law by President George H. W. Bush. To commemorate the signing of the ADA, many organizations, cities, and members of the disability community observe Disability Pride Month every July. This time is meant for celebrating the achievements of people with disabilities, increasing the visibility of the disability community, and advocating for changes still needed in society.

On this anniversary of the signing of the ADA, we’re highlighting some books we have at Westminster Kids about and for people impacted by disability. We’ve compiled a list with picture books that teach children about the value of every person, resources written for discipling those with disabilities, and other helpful titles for parents and churches.
