Rowan is an 8-year-old boy who enjoys Legos, reading, and going on adventures with his dog.

His favorite books at the Westminster Bookstore are:

1. The Storm That Stopped

Based on the account of Jesus calming the storm from Mark chapter 4, this dramatic storybook will teach children about who Jesus really is, as they witness his power over nature.

Rowan says: “This had very good pictures."

2. The God Contest

This book retells two extraordinary events in history when the God of the Bible proved himself to be the one true God. First, it takes children back to Elijah's time and the gripping God contest between the God of the Bible, Yahweh, and the false god Baal. Then it fast-forwards to a different mountain and another God contest at an empty tomb.

Rowan says, “It was very exciting to read."

3. The Prisoners, the Earthquake, and the Midnight Song

Based on Acts 16, this is a fun and compelling retelling of how a Philippian jailer and his family learned the wonderful truth about Jesus Christ.

Rowan says, “I liked the song. I liked how the illustrator did things.

4. The Story of God With Us

This book traces the foundational reality at the heart of the biblical story: God’s desire and determination to be with His people.

Rowan says, “It was long and I like long books that are also fun."

5. Why Do We Say Good Night?

As a mother and her little daughter talk, they remember together that God made the night, he sees in the dark, and he watches over them just like a shepherd protects his sheep.

Rowan says, "I like it. It was my first favorite book."
