One of our greatest privileges and joys as a bookstore is when we receive requests for book recommendations. On the back end, we've worked to curate a collection of biblically faithful books that will serve families and churches as they raise the next generation. But the real joy is when we get to pull these books off our (online) shelves and get them to individuals who would be best helped by them. We're also hoping to do that with these lists of staff favorites!
If you were looking for a book on parenting and went to peruse Amazon's "Parenting and Relationships" category, you would see approximately 70,000 titles. There are so many parenting books out there that the sheer volume is overwhelming. But which books are truly helpful? Which are compatible with the Christian faith? Which contain true wisdom?
Recently, we asked team members to help make a list of titles to recommend here. We wanted to know: “What are parenting titles that are personal favorites for you? Titles that have been edifying or helpful for you in parenting?”
Here’s what we got.
“Hands down”
“Most formative for me in the little years”
“Helpful for Kids in Church/Community”
“New favorite”
“Books I'm re-reading with a new lens”
“A nice community exercise”
“This is written for moms, but it was helpful for me [as a dad]!”
"Pretty paradigm shifting for me in grounding parenting in marriage”
